They provide SWAPO with a safe base to operate from, but their main goal is to destroy UNITA, a group supported by the USA and South Africa. To succeed in your COIN mission, you’ll need to coordinate various forces like ground troops, special forces, and the air force, while also training local forces (SWATF). Winning the local population’s trust is crucial as it will give you valuable intelligence to use in your operations.

The war isn’t just fought on the battlefield; as the SADF commander, you must also manage support for the war back home. Losing the support of the United Nations could lead to defeat. In this game captures the true essence of the South African Border War where counter insurgency operations gathering intel and containing FAPLA are key. You’ll rise through the ranks from Lieutenant to General as you relive this intense conflict making strategic decisions that could change the course of the war.
